Harp Plus + Symposium...
Saturday 26th November
This season has been full of good things for me as I have started on my research journey back at TU Dublin and the Conservatoire of Music, which used to be the Dublin College of Music where I started my formal music lessons in the late 1950s! I will be back there on Saturday for the Harps Plus event – and the launch of my book of ensembles from the early Belfast Harp Orchestra days.
Download the programme for the day here – and maybe see you there!
Launching
The Belfast Harp Orchestra
Arrangements from 1792
This book contains music from the 1792 Belfast Harpers’ Assembly that I arranged for my Belfast Harp Orchestra in 1992 – and each piece is arranged in 2-4 parts ranging from easy to advanced so there is a part for everyone!
Included are tunes you know such as Carolan’s Concerto, Planxty Johnston, Molly MacAlpin and ‘Thugamar Féin an Samhradh Linn – We Brought the Summer With Us’, but also some unknown tunes such as ‘Open the Door Softly O’, the haunting ‘Irish Lullaby’ and the cheeky song ‘The Adventurous Rake’.
It will be available from my website shop from Saturday 26th November at 5pm as well as on the Harp Ireland website - so look out for it!
Theres more that's new
My Tutor Books have a new look and they now come with supplementary volume inserts. These are ‘The Tunes Books’ so friends and family can join the playing of your music with you on any instrument!
And the Tutor Books complete with the The Tunes Books inserts for Levels 1 and 2 are now available as downloads.
Also available as downloads now all 5 volumes of the Easy Irish Dance Tunes Collection with volume 6 "The Fake Book" for your friends to join you.
