Lament for Limerick
This famous lament has been the subject of a ‘tug of provenance’ between Ireland and Scotland – but the Irish story is that it was composed by Miles O’Reilly of Killincarra, Co.Cavan – which was learned by Thomas Connellan who brought it to Scotland – where it is known as ‘Lochaber No More’.
