This is an historic harp piece from the 16th century with the last section said to be added by Carolan.

Transcribed by Edward Bunting from the harping of Arthur O’Neill at the Belfast Harpers’ Assembly of 1792, he later published in his ‘Ancient Music of Ireland’.

There is a fascinating background to this piece discussed in the ‘notes’ introduction. As a harp piece is it strong and courtly in manner with lots of down-rolled chording.
