Designed for Juniors from 7 to 11 years old, this book for beginners is full of familiar and easy harp tunes with easy arrangements intended to develop confidence and comfort with harp – with chords to accompany singing and easy and adaptable arrangements of instrumental pieces.
With tunes in sequence of difficulty, the book presents a good foundation to harp playing and there are lots of great pictures to colour in! Some old familiar songs have new and fun lyrics: “Old MacDonald Had a Harp….”, “This Old Man, He played ‘One’, He played harp strings with his thumb……” and a few original tunes to help consolidate the “A-B-Cs”.
This book is a supplementary Junior Beginner’s course preparing young harpers from the age of 6 to 11 to enter Levels 1 to 4 in the Irish Harp College training system (in which Level 1 is designed for the average 12 year old beginner).
