This hornpipe is often thought to be an Irish tune as it is so popular in Ireland – but it was in fact composed by the Scottish fiddler and composer, Scott Skinner, who first published it in his famous collection of original dance tunes: ‘The Scottish Fiddler’ in the year 1900.
