The Gravel Walks Set comprises reels: ‘The Gravel Walks’ and ‘The Humours of Ballyconnell’!
The composers of both are now unknown but both are associated with Donegal fiddling.
The arrangement, The Gravel Walks Set, is one of the scores of the IRISH HARP ORCHESTRA (formerly the Belfast Harp Orchestra) – an award winning (including a Grammy with the Chieftains in 1993) harp ensemble tutored and directed by Janet Harbison with up to 24 harp players performing in up to 8 parts.
Janet Harbison (born Dublin 1955) is a harper-composer, teacher, academic and the founder of the Belfast, Irish and Irish Youth Harp Orchestras movement.
