Janet Harbison’s Irish Harp Orchestra is a thrilling stage and concert production that is entertaining audiences worldwide! Evolved from the multi-award winning and world-travelled Belfast Harp Orchestra, and now based in Limerick, the orchestra movement has expanded to a fully professional touring production.
The Irish Harp Orchestra is a company of 23 members: of harpers, singers, pipers and other instrumentalists with a top team of the most accomplished Irish dancers – in an exciting, unique and very contemporary Irish stage show. With the choreographies of Paula Goulding and Orfhlaith Ni Bhriain, production (and management) by Avril MacRory (Go Artists, London), and music composed, arranged and directed by Janet Harbison, this production is Ireland’s most exciting new creation.

The Irish Harp Orchestra performs in the Munich Philarmonic Hall on 12 December 2017
Performing an ‘Irish Christmas’ programme, Janet Harbison with a group of 22 harpers, musicians, dancers and singers are presenting a seasonal programme of old and new music – ancient Irish and newly composed carols – and a selection of pieces from Janet’s recent work: ‘Lion of Ireland’ for the Brian Boru Millennium celebrations in 2014.
We love performing in Germany and have performed there many times before – but not since 2011 – so it will be great to be back! We are looking forward to meeting all our old, and new friends there – but – Warning! – Janet’s German sprache has not improved…
Bis bald!
Also, celebrating 25 years of Janet’s Harp Orchestra, we have recently released a remastered CD of our first two albums produced in 1992 & 1993. Find it here and at the concert of course!
And again in 2017, Janet has released a new solo album of Slow Airs – perfect for quiet listening. It has already received rave reviews… Find it here
Wishing everyone a merry and peaceful Christmas and a great 2018! Hopefully we will see you all again at a concert in Germany – or at one of our harp courses or festivals…
